Tip#1 – Push Yourself Into SCARY Territory!

The only true path to growth is to leap into scary / uncharted territory!  Think about it, if man had never ventured away from his origin, new lands would never have been discovered!  The Wright Bros. are a PRIME example.  They lived in a time where it was pure suicide to strap yourself into a machine and try to achieve flight!  Without their willingness to reach beyond what technology, beliefs, and fear were telling them it was nuts, we would most likely be WAY behind where we are.

Much like those examples above, our playing growth requires us to push our own fears and boundaries.  And the best part is, if you crash attempting a new skill on trumpet, the likelihood of death is nearly ZERO!

Tip #2 – Summer Goals

With the onset of summer break, now is a GREAT time to really create a plan and work toward playing goals.  Whether it be range, improvisation, improving reading, or building better sound, take the time and build the consistent practice routine that is required.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting videos with new ideas on building range, endurance, improvisation skills, as well as a consistent way to warm up and have solid chops each and every day!

“It’s not enough to be the best at what you do; you must be perceived as the only one who does what you do.”

HAve a GREAT week!
